so my teacher asked us to write a PAGE on a book/film frm our childhood. We have to tell how our understanding/connotative intrepretation/emotional response has changed towards it.

i am nt asking u to write it for me bt just asking what can i talk about in that essay? What aspects of the story should i discuss?
    oops 2 plzs' by mistake!

Think about how you reacted tot he story as a child and think about how you would react to it today, and write about the similarities and differences. It is difficult to give ideas because we don't know which book or film you have chosen. Best of luck with it.

you could write about how you thought the main plot was when you were younger. and what it really is about now. or what underlying plots there are that you didn't see when you were younger.

You can discuss that as a child you enjoyed the movie as an adventure with great characters that peaked your imagination. You saw only entertainment. While swimming, you would pretend to be Ariel. When playing outside you would use concepts of the movie to expand your interests in discovering territory outside of your own backyard and venturing out into the woods, a different neighbor, etc.

As an older, more mature and experienced person, you now see the values that were the heart of this childhood film. You have an understanding of the ever-present repression that is throughout the movie. You also appreciate the love story between the man and the mermaid. You can sympathize with her frustration of not being able to communicate in order to get the person of your affection to notice you.

There are many different angles to this movie. Have you watched it recently? If not, do so and it look at it with the idea of trying to notice prominent issues that are tied to this film.

    Good luck!
